I have been involved with Toastmasters since 2010. I have served in every club officer role and was an area director in 2013. I joined Toastmasters to improve my speaking ability, and I have stayed with Toastmasters these many years to help others grow. I became an area director because I want to help clubs grow.
Karen Goliger has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Systems, from Brooklyn College. She moved to Florida in1997 and started working at NCCI where she is currently a Lead Software Engineer. Her role includes system design, project management and usability. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Advanced Scrum Master (ASCM) and User Experience Master (UXMC).
NCCI founded a corporate Toastmasters club in in 2008. Karen vividly remembers going to the kickoff meeting and volunteering to do a table topic. She was hooked and has been a member ever since. A dedicated member of her club, Karen has held many officer roles including President, VPM, VPPR, and Secretary. Mentoring is one of her favorite ways of giving back to the club; she has mentored several members over the years and continues to do so.
When not working or attending Toastmasters meetings, Karen enjoys going to concerts, cooking for her loved ones, participating in religious community activities and charities, reading, and doing puzzles.
I became a member of Toastmasters in 2019 to refine my public speaking skills, embrace new challenges, and foster personal growth. Currently serving as the Sergeant at Arms of my club, I have previously held leadership roles such as Treasurer and Secretary.
I earned a doctoral degree in Integrative Biology and now work in higher education as an Assistant Professor, teaching a range of biology courses, advising undergraduate students, and conducting scientific research. I find great fulfillment in guiding my students toward academic excellence and career success.
As an Area Director, I am committed to the mission of Toastmasters and will strive to advance the development of clubs and empower their members to thrive both personally and professionally.
