The District Secretary has a passion for success and self development. She has been involved in the toastmasters program for over 8 years and attributes a lot of her leadership growth to the training she received in Toastmasters.
She has served at the Club level as Vice President of Public Relations, Educational Vice President and President. During her tenure as President Club 7178 was selected as Division I club of the year and she was the Division I toastmaster of the year. She is a past Area Governor and Division I Governor. During her tenure as Division I Governor, Bahamas Division I was District 47 Division of the year. After 6 years in the program she achieved the Distinguished Toastmaster designation. DTM Duquesa Dean is serving as President of the Great Persuaders of Atlantis Toastmasters Club 8720, a club she helped to charter 5 years ago. S he has been employed at the Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island for the past 7 years and is currently the Director of Quality Assurance. |

The District Sergeant at Arms is Gary Moss, CC/CL. Gary joined Toastmasters in 2006 as a member of Financial Connections Club #9822, a Bank of America club in Tampa. He was elected Club Vice President of Education for the year 2006 - 2007 and has been active not only in his own club, but has also participated in Area and Division contests since his first year of membership. He was elected Club President for 2007-2008 in May 2007, and attended his first District Conference that same month. He attributes that conference experience as being a major factor in his also being appointment to serve as an Area Governor in Division J for 2007 - 2008. In addition to working with his own Area clubs, he has also worked with two other Bank of America facilities in Tampa in building their club memberships. Gary is married and lives in Seffner, FL with his wife Dorla. Together they have 5 adult children, with 9 grandchildren living in FL, GA, LA, and NY. |

District 47 Parliamentarian - James (Jim) K. Spieth, DTM |

Three times Division and former area governor, Jim Spieth has been a member of Fort Myers Toastmasters Club 1702 for fourteen years. He has held most all the offices in Club 1702. Jim has lead Division F to consecutive Select Distinguished status.
Jim is an educator, within the Lee County School System at Gulf Middle School. He teaches technology and business education. In addition he is web master for several organizations to include his school and Toastmasters Club 1702. Jim and his wife Nancy Spieth, DTM, have sponsored Toastmaster’s Youth Leadership Program at Gulf Middle School for the past seven years. In addition he is commander of Lee County Schools’ Cadet Squadron, Civil Air Patrol. Jim is a retired Army Officer, and has had careers in insurance sales and marketing and was a national list broker before entering his educational career. He has been a teacher for fifteen years. Jim and Nancy enjoy travel, visiting their children and grandchildren. They are looking forward to attending the Toastmaster International conference in Sidney, Australia in 2010. On that trip they also plan to visit Vietnam. |
