When I joined Toastmasters in 2010, I was a Charter member of a corporate club. I had never heard of Toastmasters before, and I while I didn’t think that I needed to improve my communication skills, I thought that I would be able convince my husband Gary to join if I did.
Since joining Toastmasters I have served in most club officer roles, including being President of two clubs in the same year! My favorite role is Vice President of Education, because introducing new members to the education system and assisting them as they grow and flourish is very rewarding.
At the district level, I have served as a Pathways Guide, Area Director, and Division Director. Each role has challenged me and stretched me, and I have grown personally and professionally because of it. My mantra is “if it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you”.
I am a health and fitness enthusiast who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science & Health Promotion. I’m employed as a Fitness Director in a senior community, and my greatest joy is working with someone and seeing them move from a state of frailty and illness to health and wellness.
In my spare time I enjoy traveling, doing jigsaw puzzles, and listening to audiobooks.
Linda Clarke is a veteran financial services professional, with over twenty years of experience in retail banking, regulatory compliance and asset management.
Linda joined Toastmasters in December 2020 as a member of Healing Communicators Club 7178 in Nassau, Bahamas. Two years later, she joined Sunrise Toastmasters Club based in Sunrise, Florida. Since her induction into the Toastmasters program, Linda immediately became a fixture in both club and district leadership. She has served as Club Sergeant-at-Arms, Treasurer, Vice President Public Relations, Vice President Membership, Vice President Education and President. At the District level, Linda has served as Area Director, Pathways Co-Chair, Division Director and Public Relations Manager. This year she also serves as President of Healing Communicators Club 7178.
Linda has enjoyed success during her tenure in Toastmasters. She was awarded District 47’s Area Director of the Year (2022-2023) and Division E Area Director of the Year (2022-2023), Distinguished Area Director (2022-2023), Select Distinguished Division Director (2024-2025) and is a two-time Distinguished Toastmaster (2023, 2025).
I had to reorganize my life after the events in 2024. With my family’s support, I focused on finding my bearings in 2025. And 2026 is the year to effect change. I have focused back on my career and my Toastmasters goals. I was elected to the Board of Directors of the American Translators Association and made Chair of its Ethics Committee; I also joined a second Toastmasters club and advanced in my Pathways.

Ann McLaughlin-Delisca, DTM, is an educator, author, speaker, and accounting and finance professional with expertise in financial reporting, compliance, and governance. As a higher education leader, she empowers students to achieve academic and career success while helping individuals and business owners build financial confidence and make informed decisions.
During her 13 years in Toastmasters, Ann has served as District Finance Manager, Area Director, Community Outreach Co-Chair, and DTM Co-Chair. She is honored to serve as District 47 Audit Committee Chair and is committed to advancing transparency, accountability, and sound financial stewardship in support of the District’s mission and its members.
Berina Elaine Darbouze is from Miami, Florida, and currently works as a Business Process Analyst for UnitedHealth Group, where she focuses on operational efficiency, training, and process improvement. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Master of Science in Psychology, combining her passion for people with her commitment to organizational excellence.
A member of the North Miami Beach Toastmasters Club since 2023, Berina has served as Club President, Vice President Membership, and Vice President Public Relations. She has competed in and supported Toastmasters speech contests at the club, Area, and Division levels. During the 2025–2026 Toastmasters year, she proudly served as Area 14 Director, mentoring club leaders and promoting member growth through collaboration and leadership.
Outside of work and Toastmasters, Berina enjoys attending church, dancing, playing tennis, reading, writing, watching films, and spending time with her family. She is passionate about lifelong learning, servant leadership, and empowering others to reach their full potential.
I chose to serve this year because Toastmasters has had a profound impact on my life. It has helped me grow as a speaker, a leader, and a person. As a member since 2021, I have benefited from the support, encouragement, and mentorship of many Toastmasters, and I want to give back to an organization that has given me so much. Serving as Area 10 Director is an opportunity to support clubs, help members achieve their goals, and contribute to the success of our district.
My passion is developing people and helping them reach their potential. In my Toastmasters club, I see future leaders at every stage of growth—some need stronger public speaking skills, others need organizational and leadership development, and many simply need encouragement and support.
I am also passionate about organizational excellence. I am continually looking for ways to improve meetings, training, and member experiences by making the best use of available resources. I believe my commitment to people development and continuous improvement would allow me to add value as either a club officer or a director within the organization.
I chose to serve this year because I have benefited so much in such a short time from being a part of the organization. Therefore, I want to give back. Furthermore, I see myself as someone who can be an asset on a team.
I chose to serve as an Area Director because Toastmasters has played a key role in my growth, and I wanted to give back while continuing to develop as a leader. It felt like the right opportunity to support others beyond my own club.
My vision for the area is to create a connected, supportive community where clubs thrive and members feel engaged, confident, and empowered to grow. I aim to foster collaboration, share best practices, and help each club build on its strengths while delivering a positive member experience.
Born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas, Yvette has always been determined to reach her full potential. Recognizing the value of Toastmasters in strengthening her leadership journey, she joined Healing Communicators Club 7178 in December 2020. Yvette has served the club in numerous capacities, including Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President Membership, Vice President Education, and President. She also became a member of East Central Archdeaconry Toastmasters Club 7717904, where she served as Treasurer. Yvette’s strong commitment to grow led her to raise her hands to roles at the district level. She was appointed Division B, Area 22 Director for the 2022–2023 Toastmasters year, achieving Select Distinguished status. She was also named Division B Area Director of the Year for 2022–2023. Yvette has served as District 47 Recognition Co-Chair for 2023–2024, Conference Co-Chair for 2024–2025, and Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI) Co-Chair for 2025–2026. She is serving as Division B Director for the 2026–2027 Toastmasters year. She has also conducted numerous Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI) sessions and Club Officer Trainings (COT), experiences that have contributed significantly to her continued growth as a leader. Her favourite quote is, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
My “why” is service—loving and teaching others through every opportunity I’m given. I strive to live by example for my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, showing them what it means to walk in purpose and integrity. I want my life to reflect consistency, whether in moments of joy or challenge. I am shaped and strengthened by reading the Word of God, allowing it to guide my decisions and my heart. My commitment is to do what is right in both the light and the dark, standing firm in faith, character, and love as a lasting legacy for my family.
I became a Toastmaster because I wanted to become a more confident and effective communicator. As an oncology nurse navigator, I have seen how the right words can comfort, educate, and inspire people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Toastmasters has helped me grow not only as a speaker but also as a leader and a better listener.
I chose to serve as an Area Director because I believe in giving back to an organization that has given me so much. I enjoy encouraging others to discover their potential, supporting clubs in their growth, and helping create an environment where members feel welcomed, challenged, and inspired to succeed.
I didn’t set out looking for this role, I I needed a little nudge. Sometimes others see potential in you before you see it yourself, and I’m grateful someone did. I’ve always believed in lifelong learning and saying yes to new challenges. Toastmasters has helped me grow tremendously, and communication has become one of the most valuable skills I’ve developed, both professionally and personally. Serving as Area Director is my chance to give back, keep growing, and help clubs and members discover their own potential. My vision is to build connected, thriving clubs where leaders are encouraged, supported, and inspired to grow.
I have a personal and intimate relationship with excellence. We aim for the stars so that if we happen to miss, we can settle for the moon.
Toast of Las Olas completely changed how I see Toastmasters. Experiencing the culture, support, and opportunity in my home club showed me how something as simple as public speaking can bring a community together and transform lives. This year, I chose to serve so I can help create that same sense of culture in my Area—clubs where members feel supported to face their fear of speaking, connect more effectively with their audience, and grow in confidence every week
I chose to serve this year as part of my commitment to earning my Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) designation. More importantly, I see this as an opportunity to help others grow and succeed in their Toastmasters journey. My vision for our area is for all six clubs to achieve Distinguished Club status. I believe that by focusing on member engagement, Pathways progress, leadership development, and club excellence, we can create a rewarding experience for every member. Success for me is not only achieving my personal goals but also helping our clubs and members reach theirs.

Toastmasters gave me a room where my voice could grow before I trusted it anywhere else. Twelve years and 1,600+ community events later, I keep seeing the same truth: people don’t lack ability — they lack a stage, and someone who believes they belong on it. That’s why I’m serving. My goal as Area Director is simple: support my clubs so that feel less like meetings and more like a home base, where members keep showing up because they’re getting better and they know it.
Few things can transform a person’s confidence, magnetism, and presence like Toastmasters, but that dramatic growth all starts at the club level. The club itself must be so structurally and culturally sound that a member’s only job is to grow! As someone who has lived the full arc from nervous newcomer to Area Director, I’m thrilled to channel my experience and energy into helping clubs thrive.
I want to help our local Toastmasters community continue transforming lives. For 100 years, Toastmasters has empowered people to discover their potential and voice. But this is only possible because we have leaders, at every level, who invest their time and energy to deliver a quality experience for members. My vision for Area 53 is one where clubs flourish, membership grows, and every member feels supported, inspired, and challenged to achieve more. Having served as Vice President Membership, Vice President Education, President, and Division F Administrator, I have experienced firsthand the impact of Toastmasters leadership and service. I chose to serve as Area Director to continue supporting club leaders, supporting leadership development within clubs, and continuing to grow alongside others. My vision is to encourage a culture of networking, mentoring, and collaboration among clubs in Area 61 to strengthen the Area. I chose to be an Area Director because I wanted a new challenge. My vision is for my Area to be the best Area that the earth has ever seen. You will remember my Area… you might not remember my name but you’ll remember my year.
I chose to serve as the Division G Director because I love the program and I want to see my Division grow and spread Toastmasters to everyone or residence in that community be it a next door neighbor or a corporate worker. Toastmasters changed my life, and I want to help it change someone else’s.
I am a product of the program. I first joined toastmasters because I had a panic attack from having to speaking Infront of my peers in college. Since then, I have overcome my fear and competed in speech competitions. Being a part of the organization, I have had the pleasure of seeing many persons be transformed like I have. It is my wish to help aid the area’s clubs so that more people can reap the benefits that toastmasters have to offer. My vision is to help clubs create stronger clubs that can attract persons to join the organization.

I’m ready to assist D47 to work w Area Directors to ensure we meet the needs of members, work thru Pathways & assure Toastmasters International that we honor & respect the opportunity to utilize their programs to improve communication skills and develop leadership skills.
