Berina Elaine Darbouze is from Miami, Florida, and currently works as a Business Process Analyst for UnitedHealth Group, where she focuses on operational efficiency, training, and process improvement. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Master of Science in Psychology, combining her passion for people with her commitment to organizational excellence.
A member of the North Miami Beach Toastmasters Club since 2023, Berina has served as Club President, Vice President Membership, and Vice President Public Relations. She has competed in and supported Toastmasters speech contests at the club, Area, and Division levels. During the 2025–2026 Toastmasters year, she proudly served as Area 14 Director, mentoring club leaders and promoting member growth through collaboration and leadership.
Outside of work and Toastmasters, Berina enjoys attending church, dancing, playing tennis, reading, writing, watching films, and spending time with her family. She is passionate about lifelong learning, servant leadership, and empowering others to reach their full potential.
I chose to serve this year because Toastmasters has had a profound impact on my life. It has helped me grow as a speaker, a leader, and a person. As a member since 2021, I have benefited from the support, encouragement, and mentorship of many Toastmasters, and I want to give back to an organization that has given me so much. Serving as Area 10 Director is an opportunity to support clubs, help members achieve their goals, and contribute to the success of our district.
My passion is developing people and helping them reach their potential. In my Toastmasters club, I see future leaders at every stage of growth—some need stronger public speaking skills, others need organizational and leadership development, and many simply need encouragement and support.
I am also passionate about organizational excellence. I am continually looking for ways to improve meetings, training, and member experiences by making the best use of available resources. I believe my commitment to people development and continuous improvement would allow me to add value as either a club officer or a director within the organization.
I chose to serve this year because I have benefited so much in such a short time from being a part of the organization. Therefore, I want to give back. Furthermore, I see myself as someone who can be an asset on a team.
I chose to serve as an Area Director because Toastmasters has played a key role in my growth, and I wanted to give back while continuing to develop as a leader. It felt like the right opportunity to support others beyond my own club.
My vision for the area is to create a connected, supportive community where clubs thrive and members feel engaged, confident, and empowered to grow. I aim to foster collaboration, share best practices, and help each club build on its strengths while delivering a positive member experience.
