Shakira Taylor, DTM, PDD believes our real work is mastering ourselves — not other things. Within the habits, labels, and experiences we carry, she says, lie the gifts we are called to share with the world.

A speaker coach, trainer, ordained minister with the Universal Foundation for Better Living, and author of Elevate & Empower, Shakira helps emerging speakers and leaders transform their stories into stage-ready messages. As the former 2021–2022 District Director for Toastmasters District 47, she led a team of more than 65 leaders, uniting 187 clubs and 3,500+ members across South Florida and the Bahamas toward a common goal — and discovered her favorite work is igniting the flame of success in others.

She holds an MBA from Nova Southeastern University and a bachelor’s degree in international business and marketing from Florida International University. Since 2010, she has mentored speakers and emerging leaders who have graduated from prestigious institutions such as Spelman College and MIT.

Allison Turner is a business owner and community leader who believes strong communication creates confident leaders and stronger communities. As Owner and CEO of BatCat Media Group, she has seen how finding one’s voice can open doors, inspire action, and create meaningful impact.
A member of Sailfish Toastmasters since September 2021, Allison chose to serve as Area Director to help clubs and members recognize what is possible for them. Through encouragement, connection, and shared leadership, she hopes to create an environment where members feel empowered to grow, step into leadership, and use their voices to make a difference. For Allison, serving as Area Director is an opportunity to give back to Toastmasters while turning possibility into impact throughout her area and Division C.

Nalla Tejera is an experienced maintenance planner, military veteran, and administrative professional with a strong background in operational logistics and financial coordination.

Born and raised in Hialeah, Florida, she graduated with a Bachelors in Communications Arts and minors in Management & Studio Art from Hood College in 2013. Served in the United States Navy for 5 years where she was Gas Turbine Mechanic operating throughout the Mediterranean Sea.

Currently works for Florida Power & Light Company as a Power Plant Maintenance Planner, managing complex projects, procurement operations, and asset maintenance. Also, handles financial tracking, vendor coordination and budget monitoring.

Certified Notary, Mother, and an active community member bringing disciplined execution, strategic problem-solving, and strong organizational oversight to industrial and corporate settings with a dedication to reliable public operations and continuous process improvement.
