Distinguished Toastmaster Terry Spencer has been a member of Davie Toastmasters since 2007 and won the District 47 Humorous Speech Contest in 2012. He has also been a district finalist in the other three categories — International, Table Topics and Evaluation. He has been one of Davie’s leaders for its annual Youth Leadership Program since its founding in 2012. He has been a journalist for almost 40 years, the last 25 with The Associated Press in South Florida. He is a member of the Cal State Fullerton Communication School Wall of Fame. He has been married to his wife Gail since 1992 and they have an adult son, Andrew.

Influenced by her mother’s love for teaching and her experiences as a middle child Ms. Anastasia Smith decided to pursue a career in education.
She is the mother of 2 but motherly to many. She is a student of University of the West Indies where she studies Early Childhood Development and Family Studies. She is the Deputy Chairperson of The Universal Children’s Day Committee an Assistant District Manager for the Youth Empowerment Program and a Mentor for the MissFIT Girls Organization. Her influence in the lives of children have not only been granted through these organizations but also through her church Life Changes Ministries International where she is a Children’s Ministry Worker and First Step Academy which has employed her in varying capacities over the past 20 years.
She is a strong believer that “In order to be heard, you must speak”. It is this belief that has led her to joining Toastmasters International where she most recently served President of her club of Dynamic Persuaders Toastmasters Club #1200778. This belief also led her to start Be Becoming, which is life enrichment platform for youth geared toward mentorship and career assistance.
She is an Educator by profession and has many pursuits yet, she would count it as a major achievement to be remembered as someone that has lived a life first pleasing to God but secondly, that has left a positive impact on the next generation.

Barbara Strasdas is a 24-year member of Toastmasters International. When she earned her Distinguished Toastmaster award in 2011, she was as proud and excited as when she received her CPA license. She now holds 4 DTM awards.
In her toastmaster journey she has had the opportunity to serve in many leadership roles: 2020-2021 District 47 Director, 2019-2020 Finance Manager,
Division Director, Area 40 Director, 2 years as Area Governor, and Chair of 5 District committees, as well as 25+ club officer positions.
She has also received these accolades: 2009 and 2014 Division D Outstanding Toastmaster, and 2023 and 2024 Area 42 Super Nova.
In her professional life, her career path has been as a CPA in industry. Her creation of the mentorship program with the Boys & Girls Clubs Youth of the Year has shown her how reaching out to the community youth will impact our future generation. She has proudly worked with 12 Youth Of the Year candidates – 6 of those winning the county title, and 2 the State title.
Her community involvement includes 2- time Chair of the FICPA Women’s Leadership Committee, Chair & Treasurer of the Palm Beach County FICPA Chapter and Board Treasurer of the Boys & Girls Club of Riviera Beach.

Rosena Duncanson, DTM is a passionate writer, mentor, life coach and first time published poetry author of Memories of a Misguided Rose. Rosena has attained many professional accolades and takes part in both civic and professional development organizations.
Rosena Duncanson is a Senior Manager at a professional services organization. She obtained her Bachelors of Science degree with a focus in Computer Science from Tennessee State University and a Masters of Business Administration with a Speciality in Cybersecurity from St. Thomas University. As a leader in Risk Advisory, she holds the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) designations with over fifteen(15) years of professional experience.
She has served at both the club and District Level. She is the Immediate Past President of Healing Communicators Toastmasters Club and recently earned the Distinguished Toastmaster Designation. She has also served in the past as Area Director and is the past District 47 Speech Contest Co-Chair.
She embraces her passion for youth development and helping others, through mentoring and coordinating various volunteer initiatives including coordinating Toastmasters’ Youth Leadership Programs and a read aloud program initiated with a local primary school to promote literacy in The Bahamas.

Jacquelle E. Sconiers is a native South Floridian and member of Toastmasters 305 Speaks. She earned her BA in Business Management and Marketing, and an MPA in Public Administration from Florida International University, and is currently pursuing an Ed.D at Nova Southeastern in Educational Leadership.
Ms. Sconiers serves in many capacities as a professional educator with alternative student populations of Miami Dade for over 24 years. Positively impacting the lives of youth in detention settings, this has lauded her the 2009 District Teacher of the Year for the MDCPS district. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. where she serves in several leadership capacities of both organizations, and is the Chairman of the W.I.S.H Foundation, Inc. In her spare time she cuddles her furbaby Nightwing and operates 93 Degrees LLC, her event rental company.

John Schneyer, DTM, has been a Toastmaster for 14 years. John has completed 27 Competent
Communication Manuals, 14 Competent Leadership Manuals, 12 Advanced Communication Manuals,
and been awarded Distinguished Toastmaster twice. John was the Area Governor of the year in 2010-
2011.
John is a quality improvement manager focusing on continuous improvement in his professional life and
in Toastmasters. John starts an engagement by asking, “What do you want to accomplish?”
John has been the District 47 lead photographer for several years. He has had his work published and
has won awards. John likes to get up at 4:30am to take pictures well before the sun rises.
Having recently moved from Boca Raton to Port St. Lucie, John is looking to join a Toastmasters club that
meets in person and to find new venues for his photography.

Sabina Shapiro has been a Toastmaster since 2017. She is currently on her journey to become a Distinguished Toastmaster a title she admires in other members. She served in several roles over the years her favorite and most rewarding being Club President. She is a passionate storyteller and writer; her most celebrated speeches are short stories brought to life in a way her audience believes them to be true. As an Area Director, she is planning to sharpen her leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Ramõn Sellers is a dynamic leader and decorated veteran with a distinguished career in global business development, strategic planning, and entrepreneurship. He previously served in Toastmasters officer positions as the VP of Public Relations and as President, where he guided the 2023-2024 return of his club to President’s Distinguished status for the first time since the pandemic. He also currently serves as its Treasurer, managing the club’s financial health with precision and care.
He believes in leading by example and is known for encouraging other leaders to “model excellence.” One way he embodies this ethos is by collaboratively innovating and implementing creative solutions to complex problems. As a voracious consumer of books and content on self-improvement, business, and leadership, Ramõn seeks to understand every stakeholder and find common ground.
Besides his impressive career and community service track record, Ramõn is also an entrepreneur. He is the President of Puppets LLC, an educational entertainment company he co-founded with his wife. Whenever possible, Ramõn enjoys relaxing activities in the great outdoors such as kayaking, hiking, and camping with his family and friends.

My name is Roscoe Milor Strachan born November 1994. I joined Toastmasters in 2022 to develop my public speaking and later fell in love with the program. I am a proud member of my home club at Pinnacle Seekers Toastmasters Club 1513325 serving as VPPR in 2022-23 and President in 2023-24. I am an avid reader of fictions, history and self help books. My passion is in service I believe Muhammad Ali said it best “service is the rent we pay for our space on earth.” I enjoy meeting new people and in my sparetime I love to play basketball. Currently I work in the field of Sales and Merchandising. Outside of that I consider myself an activist who believes in social and economic development change. If I can summarize myself into words that will be I am goal oriented. Fun fact about me is that I think out loud.

Toastmaster Christine Sweeting joined Healing Communicators 7178 Toastmasters club in December 2020. She is also a dual member in Leading Voices and Achievers Toastmasters in St. Vincent and the Grenadines since 2022 and 2024 respectively. Christine has achieved many accolades in the Toastmasters program including Toastmaster of Year (Healing Communicators 7178 and Leading Voices Toastmaster). She was also nominated at the club level for Stellar Toastmasters in Division F and I in 2024. She has gained a worth of knowledge as Secretary (Leading Voices Toastmasters) in 2023-2024. A Vice President Membership (Leading Voices) she is excited to serve in 2024-2025.

Irwinique Storr-McKenzie is a secondary science educator and grade level year head at the Government High School. Graduating top in her field in New Providence and receiving the University of the Bahamas’ Outstanding Science Education award, Mrs. McKenzie holds a Bachelor’s degree with Distinction in secondary education specializing in Biology and Combined Science. She has served as the youngest President of the Bahamas Association of Science Educators, President of Visionaries Toastmasters Club #7548881, and numerous other leadership roles within Toastmasters including Vice President of Education, Vice President of Membership, Secretary, and Assistant Area director. She is correctly serving as the Area 91 Director for Division I.
She credits all her success to God, her loving husband, and her parents, especially her mother, who was her biggest motivator. Her mission in life is to inspire and help her students to become the most authentic and successful versions of themselves. She firmly believes that each day that God has blessed us with the gift of life is a day that we can make a difference in this world.
